Interventional Pain Procedures

  • Facet joint injections

The facet joints around the bones in your spine are often the origin of back pain. When local anesthesia is injected into the facet joints, it can block pain at the source.

  • Joint injections

Injections into the joint can be performed to provide immediate pain relief. This is used as a treatment and also a diagnostic tool.

  • Epidural steroids

The epidural space is the outer area around your spinal cord. Injecting steroids into this area can speed healing and offer pain relief.

  • Radiofrequency ablation

These procedures use electrical currents to interrupt the pain signals sent between nerves and the brain. The result is the treatment of pain while retaining movement and non-pain sensations.

  • Sacroiliac (SI) joint injections

Injections into the sacroiliac joint are performed under X-ray guidance. These injections deliver numbing medication that can provide relief from pain.
